The Shower

Erika and I have been friends for about five years. We both began dating our now husbands at the same time, and they were friends, so naturally, we became friends. Although we all met while living in North Carolina (none of us NC “natives”; our husband from the UK and Erika and I from the Northeast) we’re all happy to say we now live in sunny Florida, just miles apart from each other. Our Saturday nights are often filled with intense Uno games which we’re hoping baby James will allow us to continue for a while! They’re like family and we can’t wait to see their family grow.

I don’t think I know anyone that could be better suited to be a mother. Erika’s an elementary teacher and motherliness just oozes from her at all times. From the moment she found out she was pregnant, she’s been diligently reading books, asking questions and preparing herself and her family for this baby’s arrival. I have no doubt in my mind that James is one fortunate little boy.

But of course before the baby comes the shower, and this was it. I came as a guest, not the photographer, but I couldn’t resist.

Ah, the string game. Is there really any non-offensive way to play it? :)

I failed miserably at this napkin game. I thought I’d have it in the bag!

I stole that one from my personal blog’s Project 365.

There’s only days left! You can be sure baby James will be making a timely appearance on this blog!
