Remember the simple portrait setup from a few days ago? People had questions about the post-processing. I have good news. It was amazingly simple!
Here is the RAW file in Lightroom:

I made only two simple adjustments in exposure and clarity:

Then, I opened it in Photoshop. I converted to black and white, dodged a bit on the right side of his face, cropped and sharpened. That’s it! Five minute setup, five minute edit. Talk about an instant gratification-seeker’s dream portrait! If you’re interested in finding out more about my Lightroom or Photoshop workflow, be sure to take my very last Savor online classes, coming up soon!

Fine! You convinced me. I’m taking the class.
One question: Do you sharpen twice, in Lightroom and then in Photoshop again? Isn’t there already a certain amount of sharpening applied in Lightroom?
Sascha
gorgeous! thanks for sharing this. i’m currently using iphoto to edit, but i do own CS5 – need to learn it! this motivates me to give it a try. i’ve heard some photogs just use lightroom – do you often use both for?
I am anxiously waiting to see the schedule for classes for January 2012…do you know when it will come out?? I have to plan ahead of time and request a day off from work…CAN’T WAIT TO LEARN FROM YOU!!!!
